I lived in North Carolina many years. My days started with sitting of the porch, drinking coffee, thinking about the day, and listening to the birds. We lived on the edge of woods, so there were MANY birds singing in the morning. I called it the symphony of birds. It lasted for several hours.
Now I live in Orlando. While we are adjacent to the conservation area, there aren’t as many birds as there were where I lived in North Carolina. Right now, in the dog days of summer, the symphony is shorter. It is usually strong from about 6:10 AM until 6:40 AM. It’s also not as full as the symphonies of birds were in North Carolina.
But I still enjoy it to the fullest. I walk around my neighborhood with coffee in hand. And I relish that window where the birds create the symphony.
